Renaissance Festival of Rethymno — annual since 1987, summer (approx July–September). Cretan-Renaissance themed cultural festival staged largely at the open-air Erofili Theatre within the Venetian Fortezza, with theatre, music, dance and exhibitions evoking Rethymno's Venetian heritage.
